Generally, Yes. As we are a specialist clinic your dentist will normally be required to refer you here. However under certain circumstances if you do not have a General Dentist we can register you here at The Northumberland clinic
Please do not worry, you are not alone. More patients than you would think suffer from Dental related anxiety. We have the most up to date technologies in pain management at the Clinic. We also offer a Sedation facility with our in house Consultant Anaesthetist Dr Michael Carey.
Any x-rays that have been taken in the last 2-3 years.
A list of medications you are currently taking – complete a Medical History form in your own time at home to bring along on the day or your appointment
Any dental insurance Details, for example VHI, Aviva ect.
Your consultation* will be €80 – 150, this includes any small x-rays needed on the day.
Payment options: visa, laser, American express, maestro, cheque, cash (icons)

Depending on the complexity of the treatment we have all the facilities in house to take from simple x-rays to more complex CT scans.
Normally your initial consult is to decide what treatment is required. If you are in any discomfort or pain we will of course address this on the day.
Your appointment will take approximately 30 – 45 minutes.

You can contact us by phone or email, or, alternatively if you would like to come back in and speak with our Clinical Coordinator or specialist, there is no additional fee.
Yes, this will need to be discussed with the Specialist Dentist on the day of you Consultation.
Yes, within certain guidelines.
Routine dental treatments are not tax deductable however many specialist treatments are. For example root canal treatments, crowns, bridges, dental implants, gum treatments and wisdom tooth extractions are covered.
Yes. In some cases they offer a contribution towards treatment such as wisdom tooth removal.
VHI also offers a contribution towards dental implants in certain circumstances. Again we would advise contacting your insurance company directly for specific queries.
Yes, however we do advise to contact VHI De Care directly in regards to your specific treatment. We will complete your relevant forms at the end of treatment, and any further details you require.
